Career Opportunities

Upon graduation from the Institute, students are exceptionally qualified to work in a variety of employment situations. Many of our graduates have opened independent private practices and some have started their own massage clinics. Others work at chiropractors’ offices, form group practices with other therapists or work in hospitals or nursing homes. Still others have found employment in health clubs, spas or work within the salon industry. A business and marketing course is offered to help students with employment options. Although the Institute cannot guarantee employment, it does maintain a “help wanted file” from regional clinics, practitioners and other venues.

Alumni

The Institute values its alumni and keeps in touch with them through quarterly newsletters, surveys and alumni gatherings. Many of our graduates stay involved with the Institute by volunteering as teaching assistants. Our surveys indicate that our graduates are pleased with the education and training that they received, they enjoy working as massage therapists and a majority incorporate the Chinese/Asian modalities into their Western based practices. We are truly proud of our graduates, their skills and professionalism.

From Our Graduates

“I am forever amazed at and grateful for the excellent skills that WINW gave me. I’ve been worked on by therapists trained elsewhere and have been disappointed. I have given massages to other professionals (both massage therapists and physical therapists) with great results. My assets are not only my massage skills, but many of the office practices and people handling insights that I picked up at school!”—Peg Dalberto (’97)

“As a nurse, I found the curriculum stimulating and enjoyed the in-depth learning of the anatomy and physiology of muscles. My class became a group of friends that encouraged and helped each other as the year progressed.”—Linda Eisel (’98)

“I think of you often, especially when my clients think I’ve performed a miracle! It’s due, of course, to your excellent instruction that I’ve been able to help others through massage. Thanks for sharing all the good stuff.”—Barb Hupfer (’99)

“When asked where I attended school, I am pleased and confident to say that I attended the Wisconsin Institute of Natural Wellness. I am planning to be a teaching assistant for your classes.”—Kathy Rinaldi Lee (’99)

“What a great year! There were times that I didn’t think I was going to make it, but thanks to the great teachers at WINW I did! I’m so proud of myself. I am now a massage therapist and I intend to keep working hard and learning everything I can. Thank you for believing in me.”—Lisa Ebersole (’99)

“I am currently pursuing an opportunity to study in China where I can further my education and abilities in Tui Na and alternative healthcare. I’m thankful for the diverse curriculum that is offered at Wisconsin Institute of Natural Wellness. It has opened up worlds of possibilities for me.”—David Crain (’00)

“My experience at WINW was more than I could have imagined. The excellent, diverse curriculum, combined with the caring, compassionate instructors creates a dynamic learning experience. I will continue volunteering as a teaching assistant and work with the school to promote the growth of this awesome profession.”—Sharon Mehring (’01)

“I really enjoyed the small class size. The individual attention was great! It’s nice to know I can still come and use the library as a resource and a place to study.”—Dan Hipke (’02)

“Even with a language difficulty (I am Polish), I was able to do well, with a lot of work. The curriculum is very hard, but there are good teachers. I also feel that I had a great opportunity for personal growth.”—Elzbieta Kubica (’03)

“My experience at WINW was great! I was very lucky to find such a good school when I moved here from Texas. I wanted a school where I could get to know my teachers and get more one on one interaction with them. I had great teachers, made life-time friends and I learned so much!”—Lupe Juarez (’04)

“I want to thank everyone on the WINW staff. My dreams have come true! Now I have the freedom and skills to do this wonderful work. You have helped me in so many ways.”—Tiffany Payton (’05)

“WINW was a wonderful experience for me. Overall, the education was perfect for the work I am doing now: using massage in both private practice and in a dermatology clinic."—Aubrey Van Swol (’06)

“The staff at WINW took a 45-year-old man with an average high school education and nurtured me into an “A” student. It was a life-changing experience that impacts every day of my life.”—Kevin Toutant (’07)
